Eid All Etihad 54 - A tribute to the Legacy of the UAE
Eid Al Etihad 54 marks 54 years of unity and growth, and being a proud female founder in the UAE is definitely a legacy worth celebrating. This year celebrating the National Day was beyond just a one-day affair at thowby. The theme of union took me on a journey back in time and we dedicated a whole month to honor the 54 glorious years.
Come with me as I share with you the story of this tribute and share something meaningful with you all.
From the first of November, Eid Al Etihad 54 guided celebration that reflected all that our country stands for, woven into fabric, style and community. As I do every year I began the preparations for the special UAE National Day collection - the Al Emarat Collection. I personally loved the designs that took shape from my vision - a graceful set of 8 abayas, symbolizing the growth and the unity through the national colors. This celebration meant something deeper to me. As a brand built on modesty, craftsmanship and cultural respect, I felt it was important to honour our roots without turning tradition into a trend. I didn’t want this to be just another collection. I wanted it to be a gesture of respect, a way to bring cultural pride into everyday fashion. I wanted each piece to carry a story, a story of identity, of unity, of belonging.
A month-long celebration of Eid Al Etihad was reflected through the decorations that were put up in all our boutiques, elegantly dressed in the national colors. Here I carried the spirit of celebrating the legacy while enriching it with culture and meaning with the intentional decor. I wanted every detail, fabric, stitch, décor and light to reflect that. I believe modest fashion can be powerful, and through this month-long tribute I hoped to offer you more than clothes. I hoped to offer a piece of pride you can wear with ease and dignity.
This whole tribute would be incomplete without giving back to my community. A contest for people to engage with and win the National Day Abaya. It didn't stop there, we had a 30 percent discount on all our abayas on the 2nd of December. This nation has taught me to think about the community and has always inspired me to keep community at the core of everything I do.
Last but not the least, I had the privilege of sharing a very personal story with my community, a story that made me go all the way back to 1973. This story allowed me to travel back in time and truly testify of the tremendous growth that I have seen in this nation, the reason this tribute is so special.
My father gave me a 1 dirham note when I was 10 years old. It was the first currency of this nation. I still have it after all these years. From there to where the nation has come in these glorious 54 years is nothing short of a miracle. I salute the wise leadership that has been a guiding force for all these years and for the years to come. I am proud of my nation and I am proud to be a business owner who gets to contribute to the success story.
As we end the year, Eid Al Etihad 54 stands as a powerful reminder that no matter what we do we must always keep our values at the core of all operations. I pledge to keep the community at the core of everything I do and be grateful to the nation that inspires, facilitates and supports everything we do here at thowby. Thank you for being an incredible part of our journey.
